“Is it because I’m your mate? Or is it because I don’t whisper pretty words to you, or refuse to believe that there isn’t more to you? Would you prefer it instead if I knelt in front of you and offered the food, or fed it to you myself? Or does it enrage you that the world no longer caters to you here, in the depths of the wilderness?” His eye gleams, and there it is, clear as day; embers sparking in the depths. Anger. Clear as day. “I will do no such thing, Elain. And you will eat, because I will not carry out a mission that involves a fainting Fae that refuses to eat because it is not the fare that she ate in the palace of a High Lord.”
“I didn’t ask to come here,” snarls Elain, fists clenching at her side.
“Oh, but you volunteered, yes? Because I recall you offering when Feyre and Rhysand asked.”
She grows silent then, fingers furling and unfurling. Fingers, he notices, that are scarflecked, and because she’d refused to wear the gloves that he’d given her for a solstice.
oneshot (?) set while lucien, elain, and jurian travel through the continent to find vassa and koschei. sort of involves lucien and elain talking about the bond, and is sort of how i’d see their dynamic??? still exploring it though. let me know if y’all like it :’)
PSA: tag your posts accordingly. it’s out of respect for those that use the tags!! I like to spend time in the Elucien tag and finding anti Elucien posts is kind of just… frustrating? And I’m sure Elriels feel the same way when finding Anti Elriel content in their tag too. Can we just tag them and put a ‘/‘ in the tag? And this is out of respect for both ships. It’s just kind of exhausting. :/
the elucien aesthetic is buttery shafts of sunlight filtering through leaves, and elain archeron laughing without covering her face (propriety be damned), her laugh a deep, throaty noise that is at odds with her appearance. it is lucien vanserra poring over thick, leather bound books in bed while tracing a hand down elain’s bare spine, it is sheer coral lingerie that is covering everything yet translucent and simultaneously leaving everything bare. it is the two sprawled on a blanket in a meadow, with her head resting in his lap while he reads her poetry. it is smiles that are as radiant as the sun and words that are either dripping with honey or as double edged as a sword.
For an Elucien oneshot: somehow *Eris* is the one playing matchmaker who finally gets them together?
her fingers, lean and flecked with scars, furl and unfurl as she attempts to keep her breathing in check. he’s infuriating, likely more so than the half-brother of his that stands at her side, poring over a map and leaving her to deal with the snide comments that eris seems particularly fond of passing.
lucien vanserra learned months ago that she is not strictly kind glances and saccharine smiles, but also steel eyes and sharp remarks. and above all else, he knows now that for each word dripping with sarcasm, he will receive it’s equal and more, whether it be in the moment or days after.
and so it is lucien who leans forward now, his russet eye gleaming with barely contained amusement, but also a hint of warning. “you’ll learn soon enough, brother, that she is not a rose without thorns.”
mobile rn n excuse my lack of formatting, but I’m just drafting this rn and??? somewhat cozy, still in the early courting stages elucien already has my heart.
okay but like… are we forgetting Moriel was meant to be endgame? if you were in the fandom from the first book (personally I’ve been around since ToG), you’d remember Mor and Az were meant to be endgame, but that’s also when we started raising awareness on the lack of diversity in her books, and esp lack of LGBTQ representation. and by the time the next book came out, Mor came out as bisexual. we all know that wouldn’t have happened if we stayed quit. that’s also why e/riel didn’t even have any flirtation or what not; because moriel was going to happen prior. gwyn is for azriel now, and we’ve been seeing stuff about her on Pinterest since ACOFAS. idk. as someone that’s been w SJM literally since she dropped ToG, and also as someone who predicted what would happen in ACOSF to the fucking t, I can just… see where this is going and I don’t see e:riel as a thing. and I’m not saying this to be a jackass, it’s just based off my familiarity w sjm and her writing over what’s almost been a decade.
correct me if I’m wrong, but likening Eluciens to Tamlin apologists is actually the dumbest shit I have ever seen today? and saying Eluciens don’t like Elain is also a miracle stretch? if there’s one thing I’ve noticed ab Eluciens, it’s that they prioritize Elain over Lucien most of the time and speak on the growth and development she is owed. not once has this fandom tried to say that Lucien was entitled to her, nor that she was obligated to accept a mating bond. if anything, the potential of the ship was what kept the ship afloat and how the two seem to compliment each other, particularly when you look at their pre-ACOMAF personalities. at the end of the day though they’re still mates though so 😗
if there’s one thing I love about both Elucien and Gwynriel, it’s knowing 100% that both Lucien will not coddle Elain and Gwyn will not coddle Azriel. It’s knowing that these two will be able to both heal and help their partner in healing while also not sweeping things under the rug. No one will be placed on a pedestal in those ships, or made to be something that they are not; they’ll know and see each other fully, and I just… really like that.
context: elain and lucien are in the human lands on the continent, and stumble upon a meadow of flowers that have been prized by the high fae for centuries. while disarming in their beauty, they are just as lethal, and have been known for killing multiple princes and kings within the human lands. for elucien week, with flower as the prompt.
I keep seeing a lot about the next ACOTAR book being centered around Elain and Azriel, but logically: how can that ship fit into one book? First, from an author’s perspective, the next MC won’t get next to no page time in the book before. Elain wasn’t set up to be a MC or LI or both in ACOSF, and I don’t say this to stir up a ship war, but her presence was merely to signify future plots for her but nothing significant. Second, she has no connection to the next book, and that’ll tackle: the Illyrian uprising, the aftermath of three women winning a blood rite in an extremely misogynistic territory (country? I don’t know what Illyria counts as), Azriel dealing with his past (we learned his mother is still alive and will likely play a role in him confronting his past), Azriel handling his mental health (grappling with self worth), more issues with the Autumn Court, and closure with Morrigan. I see this having more to do with Gwynriel (if you’re looking for a ship) because she’s tied into what’ll be one of the most important plots (aftermath of the blood rite).
