lucien: is told to give his mate time and space, and does. knows she’s recovering from a broken heart/trauma and doesn’t push her to talk with him. gives her gifts to let her know that he’s there whenever she’s ready

cassian: sees his mate self-destructing by pushing people away and using sex and alcohol to numb her trauma and is only concerned about her mental wellbeing. every time she pushes against him he just continues to keep reaching out his hand for her

azriel: *knows elain is mated to lucien and any harm done to him would rip her apart* *considers a blood duel with lucien anyway* “i’ll defeat him with little effort”
